With the arrival of FG, FPV launches a new nameplate

As revealed in our main FPV story (more here), the arrival of the FG Falcon has prompted realignment of FPV's models and, in that, a new badge.

Though Ford's go-fast arm will have plenty to say at its own launch in May, for the time being there's limited detailed news on the line-up. If for no other reason, the very first FG FPV models were only finished this week!

What we do know for certain is the Force6 and Force8 'gentleman's express' models have been discontinued, with only the latter model set to be replaced.

Ford's own range-topping G6E Turbo means there is little room left for FPV to market a Force6 replacment. With no G8E, however, FPV has increased the V8-powered GT line-up by one.

Enter the GT-E: like the Force8, a GT for those who are a little shy of V8 Supercar-style rear wings, bold stripes and the like.

FPV says the new GT-E will be "distinguished from its V8 siblings by its refined rear lip spoiler, chrome accenting and distinctive GT-E badging."

The car will also get its own 19-inch alloy wheel design and sport premium six-piston Brembo brakes as standard.

"The GT-E is a sophisticated luxury performance car that will cater for those buyers that don't want the stripes, wings, and seats offered in the GT-P (pictured); however want to retain all the performance attributes of that car," FPV says.
