New spy shots show what could be the updated 2010 model Toyota LandCruiser Prado

Could this be the mid-life update for the Toyota Prado? These images have emerged on an Arabian forum and appear to be the real deal.

The Arabs love their Cruisers (the Middle East is an even bigger market for the offroad Toyotas than Australia) and the 200 Series was first leaked from a Middle Eastern website, so there is a better-than-even chance that this is the 2010 model Toyota LandCruiser Prado.

Along with a revised front and rear end, the updated Prado is also likely to benefit from some mild mechanical tweaks, including more efficient versions of the current 4.0-litre V6 petrol and 3.0-litre inline four-cylinder turbo diesel engines.

Trim changes and new comfort features are also likely to accompany the Prado's mid-life update.

Getting back to the design, and the front end presents as a tidier, more modern look for the mid-sized SUV, with slightly more resemblance to its bigger brother, the 200 Series LandCruiser.

It's also somewhat sportier with a more aggressive face, thanks in part to the restyled headlights and also the protruding lower fascia which is finished in a contrasting colour.

The tail end features reworked brake lights and new tailgate that again bring it closer in design to the 200 Series LandCruiser.
